To create, to improvise, to perform, you have to enter into the unknown–the Void . . . a place of all possibilities . . . where anything can happen . . .

This workshop develops & expands your unique movement, spoken word & sound vocabulary for improvisation, developing characters, & composition, through the exploration of:

• Heightened receptivity through Radical Sensing and Empathy

• Presence through moment to moment awareness

• Saying yes to what is

Consciousness of space, timing, dynamics (Laban’s Effort work), gesture and State of Being

• Solo and Ensemble skills

• Comfort in front of an audience

* Joy as the basic creative experience

For dancers, this workshop addresses issue that are often not dealt with in regular dance classes, such as: audience engagement, presence, working with how space ‘reads’, using choreographical elements improvisationally (and vice versa), using Rudolph Laban’s Efforts to develop dynamic range, and maintaining total awareness of self as well as 360 degree awareness of the entire space.

FOR ANYONE WANTING MORE CREATIVITY/OR PERFORMANCE TOOLS IN THEIR LIFE AND ART. APPROPRIATE FOR THE BEGINNING EXPLORER TO THE PROFESSIONAL.
